Milestone Construction Company LP has been assigned the task of replacing the existing steel-structured bridge on State Road 26 with a new bridge structure using pre-stressed concrete beams. In addition to constructing the new bridge, their team will also undertake the installation of concrete approaches, piling, end bents, guardrail end treatments, and asphalt pavement on both ends of the bridge. Weather permitting, this project is expected to reach completion by mid-November.
To facilitate traffic during the construction period, an official detour has been designated. Motorists are advised to follow the detour route, which involves utilizing U.S. 27 and S.R. 67 in Indiana, as well as S.R. 29 and S.R. 49 in Ohio. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) encourages drivers to prioritize worker safety by reducing their speed, exercising extra caution, and refraining from distractions when passing through or near any work zones.
